Jon Pardi: The Bio

After he graduated from Dixon High School in 2003, Jon moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and by the 2010s, he was signed to Capitol Nashville. He first got attention in the country music world as an opening act for Dierks Bentley, a high-profile Nashville artist.  In 2012, Jon released his first single, “Missin’ You Crazy,” via Capitol Nashville. Co-written by Bart Butler and Marty Holmes, the song was produced by Butler and Pardi and released on July 26. The track made it to the Top 30 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs Charts and was accompanied by a music video directed by The Edde Brothers. The song helped Pardi become a household name among country music fans. Jon has been married to Summer Duncan, a hairdresser, since November 21, 2020. Thanks to his highly successful music career, Pardi is estimated to have a net worth of $8 million.

Jon Pardi’s Music

Before dropping his first album, Write You a Song, in 2014, Pardi came out with three more singles – ”Up All Night,” “What I Can’t Put Down,” and “When I’ve Been Drinkin” – that were all featured on his full-length debut. Once the record came out, it received high praise from music critics, earning an “A” rating from Country Weekly. In addition, Billboard’s Chuck Dauphin added “That Man,” “What I Can’t Put Down,” and “When I’ve Been Drinkin,” all from Write You a Song, to his list of the 10 Best Songs by Jon Pardi.

California Sunrise: A Smash-Hit Follow-Up

Just two years after the release of his full-length debut, Pardi released his second album, California Sunrise, on June 17, 2016. The album, released via Capitol Nashville, was produced by Pardi, alongside frequent collaborator Bart Butler. The album features five singles: “Head Over Boots,” “Dirt on My Boots,” “Heartache on the Dance Floor,” “She Ain't in It,” and “Night Shift.”  California Sunrise went on to be certified Platinum by the RIAA, and it is Jon Pardi’s biggest commercial success to date. The album made it to No. 11 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, and it topped the US Country Charts.  Reviewers praised California Sunrise for its lyrics and production value, with AllMusic’s Stephen Thomas Erlewine describing it as leaving “space for softer tones and slower tempos.”  Six of the tracks on California Sunrise were featured on Jon Dauphin's list of the 10 Best Songs by Jon Pardi.

Heartache Medication: Jon Pardi’s Highly Successful Third Album

Jon’s most recent release is Heartache Medication, his third album with Capitol Nashville. Produced by Bart Butler, Ryan Gore, and Pardi himself, the album was recorded after Pardi returned from touring with fellow country star Luke Brian. Pardi announced the album after he made an appearance on the final episode of American Idol’s 2019 season.  Heartache Medication made it to No. 2 on the Billboard Country charts and No. 11 on the Billboard 200 Albums Charts. The album’s three singles – ”Heartache Medication,” “Ain’t Always the Cowboy,” and “Tequila Little Time” – were all major successes. The album got positive reviews from critics, with Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic praising Pardi for switching up his sound after releasing California Sunrise. “Tequila Little Time” was one of the most successful tracks on the album, making it to Platinum status in both the US and Canada. The music video for the track features Pardi’s then-girlfriend, Summer Duncan, who became his wife around a year after the album’s release. “Tequila Little Time” Hit No. 7 on the Canada Country charts and No. 37 on the US Hot Country Songs charts. After its release, Pardi performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Jon Pardi is viewed by many as one of the heroes of the neotraditional country sound. While many country stars of the 2010s and 2020s have historically favored adding pop elements to their production, Pardi has kept his sound more traditional, earning himself hundreds of millions of streams on his tracks in the process.
